vladek is Arts father in the book Maus. vladek tells his son the horrific story of his phenomenal escape from the holocaust. As the story begins in 1978, he is married to his second wife Mala. Mala and Vladek dont exactly get along, they have all kinds of problems. Mala is furious that Vladek would never give her money even to buy things that she needs.
